Man - in need of redemption

CONSTITUTION
The Mission shall be known as the 'Macclesfield Christian Mission' (a registered charity)
The Mission shall be non-denominational and automonous, holding a doctrinal position as detailed in the Statement of Faith and Doctrine of the Mission.
The Objects and Aims of the Mission shall be to proclaim the Gospel of God concerning His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the preaching, teaching and application of the Christian faith throughout the Macclesfield area, and elsewhere.
The mission statement of the Mission shall be - 'We preach Christ' (1 Corinthians 1 v 23)
The main activity of the Mission shall be evangelistic outreach.
The activities of the Mission shall be overseen and supervised by the Management Committee consisting of not less than three and not more than seven members; three shall form a quorum.
The first Management Committee members shall be those serving on the Executive Board of the Mission on the day of the 2004 Annual General Meeting of the Mission, at which time the Executive Board and the Advisory Panel will be disbanded.
Appointees to the Management Committee shall be lay persons of good standing and who are active in the life of the local evangelical church community.
Prior to appointment, or re-appointment, to the Management Committee, appointees shall be required to accept the Statement of Faith and Doctrine and the Constitution of the Mission.
The Management Committee shall, from its own number, appoint as its honorary officers, a Chairman, a Secretary and a Treasurer, who shall normally stay in office for a period of one year, after which they shall be eligible for re-appointment.
Appointees to the Management Committee shall meet not less than four times each year upon written or other notice from the Honorary Secretary of at least seven days.
Minutes shall be taken at all meetings of the Management Committee.
Resolutions proposed shall normally be passed on a simple majority vote (either by a show of hands or by secret paper ballot) with, in the event of a tie, a casting or additional vote available to the chairman of the meeting.
The responsibilites of the Management Committee shall include:
The spiritual oversight of the Mission
The overall management of the Mission
The employment of personnel, as necessary
The use of appropriate means to fulfil the Objects and Aims of the Mission
The administration of the capital assets and funds of the Mission
The observance of the applicable requirements of the Charities Act 1993 and other relevant legislation.
An Annual General Meeting of the Management Committee shall be held in May to:
Receive and consider the Officers' Reports on the activities of the Mission
Receive the audited Income'Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet
Appoint, or re-appoint, the honorary officers for the ensuing year
Appoint, or re-appoint, the Independent Examiner or Honorary Auditor
Receive and consider any Resolution proposed and notified to the Honorary Secretary in writing at least twentyeight days before the Annual General Meeting.
No alteration shall be made to the Constitution of Faith and Doctrine of the Mission except at an Annual General meeting of the Management Committee. Notice of any Resolution proposing such alteration shall be sent to the Honorary Secretary of the Management Committee not later than 1 March of any year.
No alteration of the Constitution and Statement of Faith and Doctrine of the Mission shall be made which shall cause the Mission to cease to be a charity at law.
A Resolution to dissolve the Mission shall be proposed only at a Special General Meeting of the Management Committee and shall be carried only by a majority of at least threequarters of the members present.
In the event of the disollution of the Mission, any assets remaining after the satisfaction of all proper debts and liabilites shall be given to such similar or other charitable purpose as the Management Committee shall decide.
