Macclesfield Christian Mission appoint New Director of Operations.
Macclesfield Christian Mission, which is a Christian organisation that has been part of Macclesfield for 117 years, has appointed a new Director of Operations.

Darren Hodkinson, pictured here with his wife Jeanette, has taken on this new role, and is looking forward with great enthusiasm to the challenge that lies ahead.
Darren has lived in Macclesfield for 25 years and has been a committed Christian for 18 years. He steps straight into the job from a nation wide Christian youth organisation called Crusaders, who help and support all Christian youth outreach within many churches across the country, from the age of 4 to 18years.
The Mission team have a massive vision for Macclesfield, part of which is to focus on the needs of the towns people by providing different activities that will cater for young and old, children and teenagers, giving them support and guidance.
One of the first things that the Mission will do is to hop onto the technology bandwagon by setting up it’s own web page. This site will have details regarding all the Mission activities and how they can be contacted. It will also hold regular features like bible studies, daily readings, the history of how the Mission came to start in Macclesfield. We are hoping to have this available by mid February.
“Macclesfield Christian Mission was a real driving force within this town,” said Darren, “and my wish is that this trend will continue. In times gone by Macclesfield Mission used to take Sunday Schools on day trips to Blackpool and you couldn’t see the town centre for the hundreds of children that wanted to board those buses. The Mission was well respected back then, and this is something for us to strive for. With God’s help people will realise that the Town Mission is there to help them in their daily walk of life.”
Macclesfield is very close to my heart and I want to see this town full of Gods love. I want to see unity and trust amongst each other that is second to none.
The Mission is not here to be in competition with any churches or other organisations within Macclesfield, it’s here to work alongside churches and their activities, helping them in any way possible.
The town Mission is there for the people of Macclesfield. Anyone wishing to be part of the Mission or who has any thoughts or views regarding the work that Darren is about to embark on should contact him on the Mission hot line - Tel: 07708571750.
